The title 'Gangs of Masalapur' is inspired by the Indian Film 'Gangs of Wasseypur' from Anurag Kashyap. Its one of the finest film made in India among the numerous Masala Films produced every year. The film revolves around the cities of Wasseypur and Dhanbad and portrays the life of Coal Mining Mafia, Criss-crossing Gangsters and the power and politics behind them. You can experience various Flavors inherited in the characters etched by Anurag Kashyap similar to the various Flavors and Characteristics our Masala blends. The film shot and produced in 2012 as a stunning 5 hrs 19 mins feature film but released as two part series, Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1 and Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2. And it became the Cult film much later.
The 'Gangs of Masalapur' are not those behind the company's operation, but those inside our Masala blends. The Ingredients used to flavor our Masala (Spice Blends). We will discuss all those in detail.
In fact the name Masala means spice mixture in powder or paste form and the word derives from the Urdu Masalah and Arabic/Persian Masalih which means Ingredients, Materials, Spices. Masalas are extensively used for cooking in Indian subcontinent. Especially Indians love both Masala Mixes and Masala Flixes. But Gangs of Wasseypur is not a typical Bollywood or Kollywood or Tollywood or Mollywood or Sandlewood kind Masala flix.
Similar to Gangs of Wasseypur, we have plans to write a two part article while introducing Gangs of Masalapur. So you can expect Gangs of Masalapur - Part 1 and Gangs of Masalapur - Part 2 in the coming days. Till then consider this a s a teaser.
For those who have already watched the film, If you feel that Faizal (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is fiery hot as Chilli then Mohsina (Huma Qureshi) is balanced and cool as Coriander. We all need that balance in life. Add some more Spice to Life...
